Client: Marklevitz Architects Inc.
Project Location: Stratford, Ontario
Stratford’s newest luxury accommodation establishment is the Bruce Hotel on Ontario Street. This high-end inn is a fully functioning facility which opened in the summer of 2015. There are few inns being constructed today that receive such a level of finishes and amenities, and NA Engineering Associates Inc. is proud to have provided the structural engineering services for this exciting project. The building is a two-storey structure with a partial basement and is constructed of a combination of reinforced concrete, load-beating masonry, structural steel framing, and precast concrete slabs. The building is multi-faceted, with multiple roof levels, dormers and balconies, and its orientation and arrangement reminds of a rambling French country Inn. Such a structure required many location-specific structural details to accommodate its shape. Construction support services were provided by our firm, in the form of regular site reviews, ongoing communications with the general contractor, attendance at construction site meetings and review of shop drawings.
