NA Engineering Associates Inc. provided the prime consultant and engineering services for the first licensed medical cannabis production facility in Perth County. Our consulting services for the project included: site planning, building design and layout, structural design, and mechanical and electrical engineering.
A blossoming industry in Canada, medical cannabis production requires that a licensed facility adhere to strict guidelines dictated by Health Canada in terms of ensuring product safety and security. Our firm worked closely with the client to develop a building design plan that would be cost effective to build and to operate, and would meet the necessary criteria in order for the facility’s license to be obtained.
Special consideration was given in the design of the building’s mechanical systems to provide odour control in exhausted air and filtration systems that will prevent the ingress of insects from the outdoors into their growing facility.
The facility is approximately 28,000 square-feet in size, and was completed in September of 2017.
