Client: Huron Perth Health Alliance

Project Location: Stratford, Ontario

Stratford General Hospital was chosen by the Ministry of Health to become a Regional Health Care Centre in the Counties of Huron and Perth.  As a key component of this new regionalized model for health care, a renewed and expanded facility was required.  NA Engineering Associates Inc. provided structural and municipal engineering services to the design team.

A two storey structure with a partial basement was designed to meet this need.  The structure was designed and built using reinforced concrete slabs and concrete columns.  Open atrium areas and cantilevered elements added interest to the building and design challenges for our team, which were overcome through careful planning, coordination and attention to detail.

This addition houses the emergency department, several operating suites and the digital imaging department, among other uses.

A frequent and thorough series of site meetings and field reviews during the construction phase, and regular correspondence with the design team and the contractor were some of the factors enabling this project to be constructed successfully.
