Client: Bruce Power L.P.

Project Location: Tiverton, Ontario

In light of the lessons learned from the seismic incident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear power station in Japan, Bruce Power LP decided to build on its already substantial emergency response and control structure to better respond to emergencies, especially those as a result of natural disasters.

Recently completed in Fall 2012,  the Emergency Management Center (EMC) is a central command, control logistics and coordination point during an adverse emergent events at the nuclear plant. NA Engineering Associates Inc. was retained as the prime consultant and is undertook all design discipline work for this important and time-sensitive project. A renovation of an under-utilized portion of the off-site Visitor Center facility was done to meet the stringent User Requirements.  It was the central command post for the provincial Huron Challenge emergency drill held in October 2012.
