Client: Province of Ontario

Project Location: Stratford, Ontario

The Normal School Building located adjacent to the world famous Stratford Festival Theatre was constructed in 1908 by the Province of Ontario as a school for educating teachers who would work in small rural areas, an example being Stratford.  It is the only one of four identical Italian–style Renaissance buildings constructed in 1908 that has survived without substantial renovation.  NA Engineering Associates Inc. understands historical buildings such as the Normal School.

Over the last 15 years, NA Engineering Associates Inc. has completed condition surveys of the entire building including all of the major systems and components, prepared specifications and tender documents to replace the roof, provided the structural engineering for modifications of the building to accommodate installation of a new elevator, renovation to provide space for the Festival Store, as well as substantial repairs to the brick masonry exterior walls and distinctive copper dome on the front of the building.
